about

Component is Montreal (Canada) based Jeremie Gendron. His first real contact with electronic dance music came in 1986 with a tape called "House sound of Chicago" which opened up a whole new world. Greatly influenced by his older brother who introduced him to bands like Font 242, Nitzer Ebb, Depeche Mode and early new beat. Gradually dove deeper into the world of industrial and techno music and in the early 90's, got into the rave phenomenon. Started creating music on a computer running Scream Tracker. Went further and explored hardware synthesizers and created tracks under the name Aekt; mainly acid techno and acid trance. Joined up with Antoine Leveille (DJ Ant) and formed Paratonerf; a harsh, intense hard acid project that destroyed dance floors on the Montreal scene. Started the hard edged, minimal robotic project; Component. Released on German label Konsequent and a few compilations, and then, faded away...
